Our first fundraising event for The Laura Hickey Fund was a coffee morning which took place on Friday 9th of May in the Ashbourne House Hotel. We had teas, coffees and biscuits which were kindly sponsored by Dial An Electrian, along with tasty treats made by Sharon’s Cupcakes. Mary Quinn sold jewellery as well as handbags made by Ciara McGroarty. We had an extremely busy morning with people from all over Meath and beyond dropping in from 10am right up until 1.30pm. Incredibly, we managed to raise €8,200 in this short space of time. This amount far exceeded our expectations and we want to say a very big

to everyone involved. This goes a long way towards our target of raising €60,000 to get Laura to a specialist cancer centre in the USA. Thank you so very much to absolutely everyone who came along to the coffee morning – your support is unbelievable and very much appreciated by everyone involved with The Laura Hickey Fund – friends and family alike. Thank you especially to Anne and Martin Moore as well as everyone who helped out serving teas and coffees and selling raffle tickets. Thank you to those of you who would have loved to have attended but couldn’t due to work etc – we have lots more upcoming fundraising events which will all need support too!
